- The pair, who had both moved to Dubai for work, went missing after setting off on a recreational trail in Wadi Naqab on 18 July.
- Search teams discovered the men in a mountainous region, and both were pronounced dead at a hospital in Ras Al Khaimah later that day.
- Provisional medical causes of death for both men were recorded as cardiac and respiratory arrest caused by severe heat stress.
- Chelsea Football Club expressed their devastation at the death of former Academy player Cassius Newton, the son of former Chelsea player and coach Eddie Newton.
