MANILA, Philippines — Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano on Wednesday confirmed that Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa rode in his vehicle reported back to the Senate on Monday.
Cayetano issued the clarification following remarks by Senator Panfilo Lacson that the Cayetano siblings knew about dela Rosa’s planned return to the Senate and alleged that the senator had arrived using the vehicle of Senator Pia Cayetano.
The Senate chief said dela Rosa contacted him before going to the Senate and asked how he could safely enter the premises. Cayetano said he was surprised by the request and offered the use of his own vehicle to assist the senator.
“He asked me how he could get into the Senate, and I offered my car,” Cayetano said.
