A viral CCTV clip exposes a couple on a yellow scooter stealing doorstep parcels in Teluk Panglima Garang

RESIDENTS in the Teluk Panglima Garang and Jalan Kebun areas near Klang are being urged to stay vigilant after CCTV footage of a couple allegedly stealing parcels from homes went viral on social media.

The footage was shared on Threads by user @Awinrzk, who posted several clips from home security cameras after noticing that deliveries at his address had been going missing. The post has since spread widely, with residents recognising a pattern they too had been experiencing.

In the clips, a couple is seen arriving on a yellow scooter before pulling up outside a residential property. One of them — a person in a red outfit and helmet — dismounts and walks into the compound of the house while their partner waits on the scooter outside the gate. Moments later, the individual reappears with a postal parcel in hand before both speed off together.

“My area already has thieves. A yellow scooter — a couple doing dirty work. Around the Teluk Panglima Garang/Jalan Kebun area. No wonder our parcels have been going missing lately,” the poster wrote, urging anyone who recognises the pair to come forward and appealing for the post to be shared widely.

The footage suggests the thefts are anything but opportunistic. Netizen Irfan pointed out that the couple appeared to be operating within a specific window — between 10am and noon — when most residents would be at work and homes are left unattended.

“Looks like they’ve already been watching — checking which parcels are the big ones. Probably waiting there every day,” commented Fadha, echoing what many found to be the most unsettling aspect of the clip: the ease and confidence with which the theft was carried out.

“Clearly they’ve done this before. Look at how casually they move,” added another commenter, Irfan.

The viral post drew hundreds of responses from concerned residents and members of the public, most of whom used the opportunity to urge homeowners to tighten their security habits.

The most consistent piece of advice: keep your gate locked at all times.

“Parcel thieves like this are always around. Don’t leave your gate open — it’s an open invitation for this kind of thing,” wrote user Miz.

Others suggested installing additional security systems, setting up motion-sensor alerts linked to mobile phones, and requesting that courier services require signatures upon delivery or use parcel lockboxes where available.

Some netizens also called on e-commerce platforms and courier companies to explore safer last-mile delivery options for residential addresses, particularly in areas where theft has been reported.

The identities of the couple in the footage have not been publicly confirmed, and it is not known whether a police report has been lodged. Members of the public who recognise the suspects or the yellow scooter are encouraged to contact the nearest police station.
