
`Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) has begun the admission process for the new academic session, with a special focus on job-oriented and modern courses alongside traditional programmes. University authorities said a BSc in Yoga has been introduced for the first time, with 60 seats. Technical programmes such as Cyber Security, Digital Forensics and Artificial Intelligence are also expected to attract students this year.
The university administration said the courses have been designed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), keeping in view employment opportunities and changing industry demands. Interested students can apply online till June 10.
The officials said special emphasis has also been placed on one-year diploma courses and five-year integrated programmes.
According to the university, students had shown strong interest in courses like Cyber Security and Digital Forensics in previous years, and similar competition is expected this session as well.
Seats have been allocated across subjects including Science, Commerce, Management, Journalism, Social Work, Fine Arts, Theatre and Sports Education. Engineering courses such as BTech in Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are also drawing attention.
Among the major undergraduate courses, BSc physics has the highest intake with 302 seats, while BCom and BBA have 120 seats each. Other courses include BSc Data Science, BCA, Food Science and Technology, Fashion Design and Lifestyle Technology, Physical Health and Sports Education, Journalism and Mass Communication, Economics and Finance, Social Work, Fine Arts and Performing Arts.
The university has also introduced one-year diploma courses in cyber security and ethical hacking, and digital forensics and investigation, with 40 seats each.
Among integrated and professional courses, the university is offering five-year integrated BSc-MSc programmes in Biology and Physics with 60 seats each, BA-LLB with 120 seats, and Bachelor of Pharmacy with 60 seats.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is also offering BTech CSE and BTech CSE in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with 60 seats each.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Vijay Kumar said the university is introducing employment-oriented courses in line with the NEP and current industry requirements. He added that providing students with a better academic environment and skill-based education remains the university’s priority.
