Martin O'Neill hails 'unison' between Celtic players and fans
17:25 , Jamie BraidwoodCeltic Park was rocking today and that will make it very difficult for Hearts next week if they have to go to the champions needed to avoid defeat to win the title.
Martin O’Neill said there was a togetherness between the fans and players, telling Sky Sports: “I thought that I thought the crowd were magnificent today, absolutely magnificent. A bit of unison, you know, which I think when we stepped in. Way back at the end of October, beginning of November time, didn't seem to be there, but unison, that's really important. So listen, just whatever sort of things are going on in the background, just leave them to the side at this minute. I actually think the crowd have pulled us over the line in a number of matches recently.”
Martin O'Neill on Celtic's message to Hearts: 'We're still fighting'
16:45 , Jamie BraidwoodMartin O’Neill tells Sky Sports. “There's been a massive challenge, from Celtic's viewpoint [this season]. We have been chasing the whole way. That's all we seem to be doing. You're winning football matches, winning games, and then you think, have we gained any ground at all? So it's one of those, but we've got the big game [on Wednesday]. We're still in it. We're still fighting, and that's the most important thing to come out of the game today.”
Danny Rohl: 'We have to take a big learning for the new season'
16:25 , Jamie BraidwoodDanny Rohl: “I think we showed some good things. Even today, you look to the 90 minutes, I will not make it better because we lost. This is always tough, but I think when you take the game, then you see still good things, but good is not enough for us as a club. We want to be the best. We want to win titles, and from this point, it's at the moment, things that we have to take a big learning for the new season, and this is what we have to do.”
Martin O'Neill refuses to look beyond Celtic's trip to Motherwell
16:05 , Jamie Braidwood“I think that momentum can get changed at any given minute. We're playing strongly. We're playing for each other, which is really important. We're getting big moments where we've turned games. That's important for us. We've got a massive game midweek now, a massive game against a very, very talented side [Motherwell], so we've got to get ready for that.”
Danny Rohl on Old Firm defeat, third in a row for Rangers
15:45 , Jamie BraidwoodDanny Rohl, speaking to Sky Sports: “Big disappointment. When you lose 3-1, I think the story is again and again the same. In the key moments we are not sharp enough to defend. I think in our box, two similar situations. I think then the third one was a great goal. All in all, to take something you have to play all the time with this consequence.
“In these small moments you have to be there to take something and we couldn't. This is what we have to change in the future to take and to win such games.”
Martin O'Neill hails Old Firm hero Daizen Maeda
15:25 , Jamie BraidwoodDaizen Maeda went through a 17-game run without scoring earlier this season but has now scored six in his last four appearances for Celtic.
“An extraordinary performance by him, really extraordinary,” Martin O’Neill tells Sky Sports. “First of all the negative part of the game, closing players down, is terrific, but then when with the ball, the goals he scored... his second goal was just unbelievable.”
Hearts have qualified for the Champions League!
15:05 , Jamie BraidwoodToday’s result confirms that Hearts will at the very least finish second this season, which means they will go into the Champions League qualifiers next season. Of course, all they are thinking about is winning the league on Saturday for the first time since 1960.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor: 'It's in our hands'
14:50 , Jamie BraidwoodCeltic captain Callum McGregor, speaking to Sky Sports, after the 3-1 win over Rangers.
"To win big games, you have to peak at the right time. The team is starting to look more like its usual self. It's about turning up and performing and making sure you win them.
"It's in our hands. We just approach every game the same way we've always done, work as hard as we possibly can. We have to bring that to Wednesday night and that sets us up for the end of the week."
Daizen Maeda scores one of the great Old Firm goals as Celtic close gap on Hearts

How the Premiership title race looks after Celtic's win over Rangers
14:05 , Jamie BraidwoodIt’s official. Rangers are out of the title race and will finish the season third. It’s down to two. Hearts host Falkirk on Wednesday, and would win the league if they win and Celtic lose at Motherwell. If Celtic match Hearts’ result in midweek, they can win the league on the final day if they beat the leaders at Parkhead...

WATCH AGAIN: Enjoy THAT Daizen Maeda goal
14:02 , Jamie BraidwoodWe’ve had two overhead kicks in the Old Firm this season. Youssef Chermiti’s stunner for Rangers in March only led to a 2-2 draw, but Daizen Maeda’s at Parkhead today went a long, long way to a crucial win for Celtic. It will go down as one of the great goals in the long history of this fixture.

GOAL! Celtic 3-1 Rangers (MAEDA 57')
13:17 , Jamie BraidwoodWHAT A GOAL THIS IS! A STUNNER FROM MAEDA! AN OVERHEAD KICK IN THE OLD FIRM!
Daizen Maeda what have you done? Anything Chermiti can do, the Japan striker can do better. It’s one of the great Old Firm goals.
Maeda’s touch sets up the overhead kick. But the technique is outrageous. The ball is sent arcing into the arc and comes down in the top corner.
A special moment. Two goals in three minutes and Celtic are in control. They are closing the gap to one point.

Celtic 1-1 Rangers
13:05 , Jamie BraidwoodThere’s one change at half-time. Sebastian Tounekti on the wing for Celtic, with Luke McCowan coming off. That’s the only pre-game change Martin O’Neill made, so it’s as you were for Celtic.

HALF TIME! Celtic 1-1 Rangers
12:49 , Jamie BraidwoodIt’s been fast and thrilling, but it’s level at the break after Yang cancelled out Moore’s early finish. Rangers started and finished the half well, with Celtic finding the equaliser as they enjoyed a spell on top in between.
Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Celtic 1-1 Rangers
12:45 , Jamie Braidwood43 mins: CHANCE! Tavernier’s free-kick to the back post picks out Djiga, but he heads over! He would have been better leaving it for Chermiti, who was unmarked and following in behind him.
Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Celtic 1-1 Rangers

Danny Rohl confirms Nico Raskin has a 'muscle problem'
11:46 , Jamie BraidwoodDanny Rohl, speaking to Sky Sports, ahead of Celtic v Rangers:
On his fifth Old Firm and what Rangers need: “A perfect game today. We have to be aggressive, organised and sharp in every duel. Every game is intense and has its own story. Every game is special. On team news and the absence of Raskin.
“Nico has a muscle problem, couldn’t include him in the squad. Connor [Barron] has trained very well the last couple of weeks.”
Martin O'Neill: Danger of losing title is driving Celtic on
11:45 , Jamie Braidwood“I’m sure of it. It’s not a position that the football club has found itself in in recent years. Generally speaking, they’ve gone clear and there’s been no opposition. There’s been plenty of opposition this year, not just from Rangers but obviously from Hearts. So it is a big, big change, not something that a number of these players have been used to. You have to get used to it. You’ve been chasing, you have to keep chasing.”
Rangers bring Old Firm form into clash against Celtic
11:25 , Jamie BraidwoodRangers are unbeaten in their last six meetings with Celtic in the league, winning three and drawing three. They have won their last two trips to Parkhead, including Danny Rohl’s first taste of this fixture in a 3-1 win in January that spelled the end for Wilfried Nancy. Rangers last won three consecutive games at Parkhead in 1992.
Martin O’Neill has revived Celtic but Rangers return prompts a bigger question
11:15 , Jamie BraidwoodAnd then there were two. In the season and title race that keeps on giving, a story for the ages is developing.
No, no, it’s not that one, as historic it would be for Hearts to break the dominance of the Old Firm and win the league for the first time since 1960.
That’s because Martin O’Neill returning to Celtic, at the age of 74, and winning a fourth title, 21 years after his last in Scotland, would be a pretty decent tale in itself.
Martin O’Neill has revived Celtic but Rangers return prompts a bigger question
Celtic can pile misery on Rangers to stay alive in title race
11:12 , Jamie BraidwoodCeltic won both cup games against Rangers this season, in the semi-finals of the League Cup and the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup, but they are without a league win against Rangers in six.
If they win today to keep their title hopes in their hands, they will condemn Rangers to a third consecutive defeat after losses to Motherwell and Rangers post-split: they haven’t lost three in a row in the league in more than 25 years.
Martin O'Neill on whether Celtic are peaking at the right time
11:05 , Jamie BraidwoodCeltic could win six consecutive games for the first time this season if they beat Rangers but Martin O’Neill is staying cautious. When asked if Celtic are peaking at the right time, he said: “The games that we’ve had have been difficult. So I’ve not tried to analyse that much about it.
“We’ve got over the line. We had our difficulties on last week. Well, we certainly had. We had a bit of a problem with VAR, we had a bit of a problem with a few decisions.“But I think the Old Firm game looks after itself.
“The players have, since (losing at) Tannadice, had some time to reflect because of the international break.
“We got back to Dundee, got the late winner, and it’s gone from there. We’ve had moments where we’ve had to fight through things, but we’ve seen it through so far. But Sunday is a massive test for us.”
Rangers team news: No Raskin, Tavernier starts
10:54 , Jamie BraidwoodThere’s no Nico Raskin in the Rangers squad. We’ll have to see why that is when Danny Rohl speaks before the game.
There are changes elsewhere, too. Tuur Rommens starts but comes back into the side in place Dujon Sterling, rather than James Tavernier.
Connor Barron replaces Raskin, while Oliver Antman replaces Andreas Skov Olsen, with Mikey Moore also starting alongside Youssef Chermiti.
Rangers XI: Butland, Tavernier, Djiga, Fernandez, Rommens; Barron, Diomande, Chukwuani; Moore, Chermiti, Antman
Subs: Kelly, Sterling, Aarons, Meghoma, Aasgaard, Gassama, Bajrami, Miovski, Skov Olsen
Celtic team news: Maeda fit, McCowan comes in
10:49 , Jamie BraidwoodMartin O’Neill makes one change from last weekend’s win at Hibs. Luke McCowan replaces Sebastian Tounekti on the wing, with Daizen Maeda fit to start. Kelechi Iheanacho has to settle for a place on the bench.
Celtic XI: Sinisalo; Johnston, Trusty, Scales, Tierney; McGregor, Engels, Nygren; Yang, Maeda, McCowan
Subs: Doohan, Iheanacho, Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Tounekti, Saracchi, Hatate, Murray, Forrest, Ralston

Danny Rohl 'fully committed' to Rangers next season
10:40 , Jamie BraidwoodIt’s been another week of soul-searching for Rangers after defeat at Tynecastle on Monday but Danny Rohl insists he feels supported by the board as his future becames the source of some debate.
“Fully, fully committed. I feel the support every day,” he said. “I feel the conversations we had. We spoke so much about what we want to change for the summer.
“And all in all, I feel that I’m in the right place with the right people with a lot of motivation, positive energy to bring this club not just to a one-hit wonder, back to a consistent club who can win titles in a row.
“This is also important to understand. A one-hit wonder for us, it’s nice, but what we are looking for is that you consistently play for the title. And this is my job, this is our job, and this is why I’m looking forward.”
Derek McInnes confirms key duo will miss the final week of the season
10:25 , Jamie BraidwoodDerek McInnes confirmed centre-back Craig Halkett and midfielder Marc Leonard will play no part in the final week of the season as both face lengthy spells on the sidelines with separates Achilles injuries. Halkett was stretchered off and Leonard was later seen on crutches after he was brought off.
“Unfortunately for us it's been a sore night for us with Leonard and Halkett's injuries, really bad injuries, which is so unusual and we have to contend with that,” McInnes said. “Obviously both boys are a bit distraught.”

10:08 , Jamie BraidwoodDerek McInnes, the Hearts manager, speaking to Sky Sports after the 1-1 draw at Motherwell.
“It should be a penalty kick, the referee had a poor game tonight. We can all have poor nights, but he was poor throughout and the biggest decision of the lot of them he got wrong, and it's so important that he gets that right.
“The explanation to me is, ‘Yes, there's contact, but I don't think there's enough contact’. Everybody will tell you that’s played the game there doesn't need to be a lot of contact, but if there's contact and you're going at that speed and you're fouled... it's a penalty kick, and I'm disappointed it's not been given.”
❌ NO PENALTY!

Hearts lose key duo to injuries and vent fury at controversial penalty decision in title race twist
09:50 , Jamie BraidwoodHearts edged four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership last night after a 1-1 draw at Motherwell but lost key duo Craig Halkett and Marc Leonard to season-ending injuries and were furious to be denied a second-half penalty.
Hearts fell behind for the fifth consecutive game when Stephen Kingsley bundled an attempted clearance into his own net, but Lawrence Shankland equalised before the break.
The big talking point came in the 66th minute when substitute Alexandros Kyziridis went short to receive a corner and went down under the outstretched leg of Motherwell’s Tawanda Maswanhise in the box. Referee Steven McLean was sent to the pitch-side monitor by VAR but stuck with his original decision.

Rangers team news: Tavernier to drop out?
09:33 , Jamie BraidwoodRangers left back Tuur Rommens is fit again and is likely to come back into the side in place of James Tavernier, with Dujon Sterling moving over to the right. Andreas Skov Olsen is also likely to drop out after an ineffective display at Hearts but Danny Rohl has no other injury concerns.
Possible line-up: Butland, Sterling, Djiga, Fernandez, Rommens; Raskin, Diomande; Naderi, Asgaard, Moore; Chermiti
Celtic team news: Maeda passed fit after knock at Hibs
09:15 , Jamie BraidwoodCeltic are without Julian Araujo and Cameron Carter-Vickers in defence and Viljami Sinisalo continues to start in goal ahead of Kasper Schmeichel. Kelechi Iheanacho’s winner against Hibs last weekend could convince Martin O’Neill to bring him in from the start while Daizen Maeda has been passed fit.
Possible line-up: Sinisalo; Johnstone, Trusty, Scales, Tierney; McGregor, Engels, Nygren; Yang, Iheanacho, Maeda
It's must-win for Rangers
09:10 , Jamie BraidwoodWe said Rangers were knocked out of the title race by last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Hearts, a result that came after Danny Rohl’s side had been 1-0 up at the break and dominating the hosts at Tynecastle.
What followed was in keeping with their season and Rangers have struggled to string 90-minute performances together. However, the 1-1 draw between Motherwell and Hearts last night means Rangers are not done yet.
They need a miracle from here, though, starting with a win at Celtic this afternoon.

Celtic: Rangers (h), Motherwell (a), Hearts (h)
Rangers: Celtic (a), Hibs (h), Falkirk (a)
Permutations
Hearts: Regardless of how Wednesday night goes against Falkirk, Hearts will win the title if they beat Celtic on the final day of the season. If they beat Falkirk in midweek, Hearts can win the title with a draw on the final day.
Celtic: If Celtic beat Rangers, match Hearts’ result in midweek and then beat Hearts on the final day of the season, they will be champions.
Rangers: Must win their remaining three fixtures, hope Hearts lose to Falkirk and Hearts and Celtic draw on the final day.
Celtic aiming to extend winning streak with Hearts in their sights
09:05 , Jamie BraidwoodCeltic are the league’s in-form side under Martin O’Neill, winning four in a row since a 2-0 defeat at Dundee United in mid-March. They left it late to beat 10-man Hibs last weekend and can now trim Hearts’ advantage to one point with a win over Rangers at Parkhead.
That would mean the title is in Celtic’s hands heading into the final two games of the season: a trip to Motherwell on Wednesday and, gulp, a home match against Hearts on the final day of the season next Saturday lunchtime.
Good morning
09:00 , Jamie BraidwoodWhat next in this thrilling title race? It’s only the small matter of an Old Firm between Celtic and Rangers, neither of whom are leading the way with just a week of the season remaining. That’s because Hearts, bidding for a first league title since 1960, went four points clear at the top last night.
It sets the stakes for this afternoon perfectly. Celtic have to win and can reduce the deficit to just one point if they do. Rangers are definitely in must-win territory, and need a miracle too. We’ll have all the build-up between now and 12pm.
