Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) has set up a liaison office in Foshan, China.
Its President Datuk Frankie Liew said the office will provide a more effective and extensive platform for collaboration between entrepreneurs and investors from Sabah and various regions of China.
It is managed by local entrepreneurs and signifies the Chamber’s growing presence in China, Frankie said following a recent visit to Shenzen and other regions in China with a 31-member delegation comprising SCCC board members and young entrepreneurs.
The SCCC delegations also visited the Foshan liaison office, where they were warmly received by its executives, He Yifeng and Yang Bin.
“He Yifeng is the General Manager of Foshan Fengjun Trading Co., Ltd. And Fengjun International Trading (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. He also serves as Vice President of the China Magnesite Industry Association, and Director of its Shenzen office. “Yang Bin is the chairman of Fishan Meichenhui Cultural & Arts Products Co., Ltd.
“The two key leaders of the Foshan liaison office are strong and sincere partners who share the same vision as SCCC,” he said in a statement here on Sunday.
“With their support, we hope to maximise and optimise the economic potential and benefits between the two regions,” Frankie said.
“This visit allowed SCCC members and young entrepreneurs to develop deeper connections with the liaison office team, strengthening internal ties within the Chamber, while fostering exchanges and cooperation among young entrepreneurs,”.
The Foshan liaison office organised a networking session where several Foshan entrepreneurs and representatives engaged in in-depth discussion with the SCCC delegation.
“They highlighted Foshan’s competitive advantages in manufacturing, ceramics, home appliances, and the government’s policies designed to attract foreign investment. “Young entrepreneurs actively participated, raising questions on topics such as market access, regulations, and business cooperation models,” he said.
The delegation also visited several representative enterprises in Foshan, gaining insights into local business operations, technological innovation capabilities, and corporate culture development.
SCCC will continue to organise similar programmes, offering more learning and exchange platforms to help young entrepreneurs expand their business in the international market and achieve greater success.
