
Reviewing the overall preparedness of Chandigarh Police, Chief Secretary H Rajesh Prasad emphasized the need to further strengthen manpower, operational capacity and specialised training, keeping in view Chandigarh’s status as the capital of two states and a UT, besides having several vital installations and major market areas.
The Chief Secretary today reviewed the policing, law and order, traffic management, police modernisation and implementation of various ongoing projects and reforms in Chandigarh Police during a meeting with senior administrative and police officers.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation status of CenCOPS, procurement of vehicles, budget utilisation and the status of pending vacancies in Chandigarh Police. Officers said in the meeting that systems and protocols relating to checks and balances for cybercrime under CenCOPS had been drafted and would be implemented shortly.
The issue of manpower creation and filling of vacancies in Chandigarh Police was also reviewed during the meeting.
The ongoing projects and schemes of the Department of Prisons & Correctional Administration were also reviewed during the meeting.
