Chandigarh schools received fresh bomb threat emails similar to the previous ones on Thursday morning. Soon after the alert, the Chandigarh Police and Bomb Detection Squads reached the schools and launched search operations.

The buildings were declared safe before the school managements were allowed to continue with the classes.

Much like before, St Stephen’s School, Sector 45; Delhi Public School, Sector 40; Chitkara International School, Sector 25, among others, initially received the mails. More schools are expected to receive the same as the day progresses.

Various schools have received such threats recently. Government institutions such as the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Municipal Corporation Chandigarh have also received such mails in the recent past.

Chandigarh Police has been put on alert and asked residents to avoid paying heed to or spreading rumours.

This is the fourth instance of bomb threats at Chandigarh schools in the last few months.
