How do I earn as a Newswav Creator?
As a Newswav Creator, there are several ways for you to earn money by creating and sharing content on the platform:
1. Ad revenue share
When you publish content on Newswav, it may be accompanied by ads, and you will earn a share of the revenue generated by those ads. This means that the more attention your content receives, the more money you can earn.
Ad share revenue is calculated by multiplying ad impressions by eCPM
(a) ‘Impressions’ refers to the total number of times an ad is shown
(b) ‘eCPM’ refers to the effective cost per 1,000 impressions
2. Bonus
Bonus or platform incentives are additional earnings that you may receive based on the quality of your content.
The system calculates bonuses by taking into account your content quality and engagement. For example, if your content has a high number of views, a long duration spent on the page, and a high engagement rate (through reactions, comments and shares), you may be eligible for a bonus. The amount of bonus varies depending on these factors.
Your bonus amount is calculated at the end of each month, and it will be reflected in your dashboard no later than the end of the following month.
Note:
(a) Only original, self-created content is eligible for the platform incentive bonus. Any content identified by the system as AI-generated will be excluded from bonus eligibility.
(b) Rejected content and strikes indicate a drop in content quality and adherence to guidelines, which impacts overall performance. Bonuses are structured to recognize creators who consistently maintain high standards and align with guidelines.
3. Newswav Content Creation (NCC) Campaigns
These are campaigns or contests that Newswav runs periodically, which give you the opportunity to submit more content. NCC campaigns are a great way to earn additional prizes, ranging from cash prizes to luxury hotel stays, and gain exposure for your content on our platform.
To learn more about NCC campaigns, kindly navigate to the creator homepage, where you will find a section titled "Content Creation Campaigns". Within this section, you may discover an array of ongoing campaigns that you can participate in.
How do I view my payout breakdown?
To view your payout breakdown, please follow these steps:
- Click the Monetization tab in your creator dashboard.
- The Summary Stats section provides an overview of the overall payout information for the specified duration, while the Ad Revenue Breakdown section shows a daily breakdown of ad revenue.
- You can choose the desired report duration by selecting both the start date and end date in the Date From and Date To columns, respectively.
- These are the key metrics you need to understand:
(a) Impressions: the number of times an ad is shown to users on your content
(b) eCPM: this stands for effective cost per 1,000 impressions and measures the estimated revenue you earn per 1,000 ad impressions
(c) Ad Share Revenue: the amount you earn from ad displays on your content
(d) Bonus: additional earnings you may receive based on the quality of your content
(e) Total Revenue: the total amount you earn within the specified period
How do I cash out my earnings?
To cash out your earnings, please follow these steps:
- Submit your request to creator@newswav.com (subject to meeting the minimum threshold of RM500.00).
- Make sure that you have filled in your Payment Info in the Account tab in your creator dashboard.
- Upon receiving your cash-out request, your payment will be processed and made within 90 days, starting from the following month, provided that the accumulated amount exceeds the RM500 threshold.
- For instance, if you submit a cash-out request in April, your payment will be processed and issued by July, provided that the accumulated total exceeds the RM500 threshold and meets the cash-out requirements.
📌Important Notes:
(i)The payment amount reflects the total amount accumulated up until the month the creator requested the cash-out.
(ii) For cash-out requests over RM2,000, Newswav may split it into multiple payments.
(iii) To be eligible for a cash-out, creators must maintain an active status by consistently submitting at least one successfully published content piece each month for the past three consecutive months, including the month in which they request the cash-out.
📢 Important Update (Effective 20 April 2026):
The cash-out processing timeline has been revised from 60 days to 90 days. This means that upon receipt of a cash-out request, payments will be processed within 90 days from the following month, provided that the accumulated amount meets the RM500 minimum threshold (previously 60 days).
This revision applies to all cash-out requests, including those that have already been submitted but are still pending processing as of the effective date.
This update has been made to ensure greater efficiency and improved coordination across all payment cycles. Please rest assured that all payment requests will continue to be processed in accordance with the updated timeline.
