Kota Kinabalu: A unique fundraising initiative is taking off, offering the public a chance to experience exhilarating joyrides while directly supporting autistic children in Sabah.

Layang Layang Aerospace Sdn Bhd and Sabah Flying Club are jointly sponsoring the “Charity Joyride for a Cause” event on April 18 from 9 am to 12 pm at Layang Layang Aerospace (next to Tanjung Aru Terminal 2).

“For RM90 per person, participants can enjoy breathtaking views of Kota Kinabalu from a Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter or a Cessna 172 Skyhawk (each accommodating one pilot and four passengers),” founder Johan Poong announced.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the Sabah Autism Society, he stressed.

Johan explained the initiative aims to fulfill the dreams of autistic children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience such thrilling adventures.

He emphasized the desire to help these children experience everyday life like their peers.

According to him, the event provides a platform for the community to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying a memorable experience.

“Payment and donation details, including bank account information and a QR code, will be available at the event location. Children aged six and above must be accompanied by an adult. The initiative underscores the importance of inclusivity and offers a unique opportunity to support a brighter future for autistic children in Sabah.

The organizers invite everyone to book a joyride and share in the joy of giving.
