(UPDATE) MANILA, Philippines — Former Ilocos Sur governor Luis “Chavit” Singson was arrested on Thursday for cyberlibel but has posted a P60,000 bail, police said.
In its report, police said Singson was arrested in his home in Barangay Ugong Norte in Quezon City.
The arrest was carried upon the effect of an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court of Vigan City on June 10, 2026 for alleged violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
No other details are available as of posting time.
