
Kota Kinabalu: Former Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) Marine Operations Chief of Staff, First Maritime Admiral Che Engku Suhaimi Che Engku Daik, has been appointed Sabah and Labuan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Director on July 10.
Che Engku Suhaimi replaced outgoing Rear Maritime Admiral Datuk Mohd Rosli Abdullah who is the Director of the Maritime Security and Supervision Division at the Putrajaya headquarters.
The handover ceremony was witnessed by Acting Chief Director of Maritime Malaysia, Vice Maritime Admiral Datuk Saiful Lizan Ibrahim, at the state headquarters, here, Tuesday.
Saiful, in his speech, said the momentum created by the previous director should be continued.

He said the Sabah and Labuan Maritime is a geographical challenge compared to other states.
“Sabah and Labuan have a total of 492 islands on an 84,003 square kilometre area along a coastline of 1,440 kilometres, including ESSCOM,” Saiful added.
