Despite having two years left on his contract, Sarr could then move to any team in the world for free.
Per Foot Mercato, the Blues have been unable to find any suitors for the player on loan or permanently.
The former Nice centre back does want to leave, as he is hoping to play regularly this season.
However, he earns a solid wage at Chelsea at the age of 24, and would have to agree to a lesser deal elsewhere.
