Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has used the comparison of a counterpart at a rival this week.

Pochettino poked fun at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp when asked about a situation involving Romelu Lukaku.

The Argentine coach was asked whether he would bring Lukaku back into the first team fold if he was not sold this summer.

Pochettino compared that possible u-turn to Klopp mocking big money transfers in 2016, only to change his mind this summer.

Speaking to reporters ahead of his teams's Premier League clash against Luton, Pochettino stated: "I saw Klopp said I will not be in the business [of football if they spend 100m] and then they offered 100m and he says, oh I made a mistake, and something changed.

"The day that this is football (buying a player for 100m), I'm not in a job anymore, because the game is about playing together," Klopp said back in 2016.

"That is how everybody in football understands it. You always want to have the best, but building the group is necessary to be successful."
