Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino fired a transfer message to the board after victory over Fulham yesterday.
Pochettino admits his squad is short of numbers and quality.
He said: "It is obvious that we may need to strengthen this area (the defence).
"We need experience in midfield.
"My information is that a player (Lesley Ugochukwu, Rennes) who is from France will sign with the idea of being loaned. I don't know (how many new signings are needed), because if I say some numbers I might create a problem. For me it is important, the club works really hard to try to improve all areas."
