Chelsea are close to securing England under-18 defender Zak Sturge.
The 18-year-old left Brighton at the expiry of his contract this summer.
The left-back is one who Chelsea have admired for a long time, but they were unable to sign him when they were under sanctions due to ownership issues.
Sturge is a highly-rated wing-back who has impressed for the Brighton Under-18s and Under-23s last term.
He also plays for the England Under-18s, helping them to win the Four Nations tournament in Croatia at the end of this past season.
