Chelsea fear Romeo Lavia won't be seen in action until next month.
Lavia, who is yet to make his debut since his August arrival from Southampton, suffered an ankle injury last week.
The Daily Mail says an early scan shows Lavia has suffered some ligament damage.
And Chelsea medical chiefs believe the Belgium international could be missing for another six weeks.
The Blues are yet to offer details on the injury.
