Chelsea have jumped into the battle for Brighton fullback Marc Cucurella.
Manchester City have been in talks with Brighton for much of the summer to sign the Spaniard.
However, Brighton's £50m asking price has seen negotiations stall.
In the meantime, Chelsea have come forward to express interest in Cucurella, says the Daily Mail.
The defender has since handed in a transfer request as he pushes to leave, with City his favoured destination.
