MALAYSIAN mixed doubles pair of Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei saw their China Masters 2025 dream dashed after a 8-21, 17-21 loss to Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran today.
The world champions, who were hoping to win Malaysia’s first ever title at the China Masters, were upstaged in straight games by the Thais.
It was the fifth career meeting between the two pairs, with world No. 4 Dechapol-Supissara now leading 4-1 after also beating Tang Jie-Ee Wei in the Indonesia Open semi-finals in June.
The newly crowned world champions fought hard but couldn’t find their rhythm in the Shenzhen Arena final that saw the Thai pair clinch the title.
Tang Jie-Ee Wei, however, will not return empty-handed, taking home US$43,750 (RM184,167) as runners-up. - September 21, 2025
