CAO Dr Jaswinder Singh holds meeting with fertiliser dealers in Jalandhar.

A meeting of fertiliser dealers from Jalandhar district was held under the chairmanship of Dr Jaswinder Singh, Chief Agriculture Officer, Jalandhar, to discuss the proper distribution and sale of fertilisers and to ensure compliance with government guidelines.

Addressing the meeting, Dr Jaswinder Singh strictly warned all fertiliser dealers against the practice of tagging other agricultural products with urea sales. He emphasized that urea is an essential fertiliser for farmers and any attempt to force farmers to purchase additional products along with urea is a violation of government instructions and will invite strict action under the Fertiliser Control Order (FCO).

The CAO urged dealers to ensure the timely availability of fertilisers to farmers and to maintain complete transparency in sales and stock records. He stressed that fertilisers should be sold only as per the genuine requirements of farmers and without any coercive marketing practices.

The meeting was attended by prominent fertiliser dealers, including Angad Kapoor of Punjab Khad Store, Praveen Kumar of Malwa Khad Store, and Ashwani Kumar of Kisan Khad Store.

“Those present assured me that they would strictly follow government guidelines and cooperate with the Agriculture Department in safeguarding the interests of farmers," the CAO said.
