KOTA KINABALU: A child witness revealed that two days before Zara Qairina Mahathir was found unconscious at the grounds of SMKA Tun Mustapha’s hostel, she was scolded by her mother.
Counsel Azhier Farhan Arisin, briefing the media after Thursday’s proceedings, said the first child witness testified that Zara’s mother had scolded Zara before sending them back to the hostel on July 13.
According to the witness, when sending Zara back that day, her mother attempted to shake hands, but the gesture appeared insincere.
When asked if that was the last time Zara’s mother saw her, the witness confirmed it was. The child witness also stated that she had accompanied Zara back to her house on that occasion.
