Kota Kinabalu: Four schools in Sabah’s interior were selected as recipients of reading materials from the Republic of China.
Republic of China Consul General in Kota Kinabalu, Huang Shifang, said the donation was specifically for students in rural schools in an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
“We donated reading materials worth RM15,000 to each of the four selected rural schools.
“It is hoped that a programme like this can further strengthen the relationship between China and Sabah, because Malaysia and China have always had a good bilateral relationship,” she said.
He was met by the media after paying a courtesy visit to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and his wife Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni, at Istana Seri Kinabalu.
Among the selected schools are SK Imbak in Tongod, SK Sipinong in Sandakan, SJK (C) Pada in Tenom and SK Sabur Banggi in Kudat.
