
Kota Kinabalu: Kumpulan BTC Berhad hosted its annual Chinese New Year celebration featuring a Lion Dance performance which has been a tradition for five years as a token of appreciation for Chinese customers with a difference.
Its Executive Director Sathiq Hussain bin A.M. Jailani said the annual event is for their Chinese customers who have continuously supported their business all these years.
Advertisement“A unique aspect was offering of traditional Indian food, thosai, to the Lion instead of the usual oranges. Next year, we may replace the thosai with roti naan.
“We wanted to add a special touch to this celebration because at our restaurant, people of all backgrounds enjoy our dishes like roti canai, roti naan, and thosai,” he said, after tossing a ‘Yee Sang’ with Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Inanam division head Datuk Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen, Sunday.

Read more Sathiq said BTC is also active in discharging its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and doing charity works, including giving donations to communities in need.
In conjunction with Chinese New Year, it donated 1,000 buns to the community for an upcoming Chinese New celebration in Inanam town and some donations to several Chinese non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
