CIDG on Estrada shirt during mugshot: No triple XL inmate shirts available

MANILA, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group - National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR) on Thursday said that Sen. Jinggoy Estrada only put the inmate shirt on instead of wearing it in his mugshot because no size was available during his booking procedure last Monday.

PCol. John Guiagui, CIDG-NCR chief told reporters in Filipino in a briefing at Camp Crame on Thursday that they needed to bring Estrada to Sandiganbayan because that's where he needed to be. It is unfortunate that all the shirts available could not fit him.

Members of the media had repeatedly questioned the CIDG over the late release of the mugshot of the senator and why the shirt was draped over his body.

Guiagui insisted that there was no special treatment and noted that former Public Works secretary Manuel Bonoan, a co-accused, wore the shirt.
