Sen. Jinggoy Estrada faces another arrest for graft — CIDG

MANILA, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Thursday said another warrant of arrest has been issued by the Sandiganbayan against Sen. Jinggoy Estrada for alleged graft.

The warrant was served on Wednesday to Estrada and three co-accused presently detained at the New Quezon City Jail for alleged violation of Section 3(e) of Republic Act 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, with recommended bail set at P90,000.

The CIDG assured that proper coordination was made with the concerned custodial authorities to ensure orderly and lawful service of the court process.

On Thursday, the same warrant was likewise served to former Public Works chief Manuel Bonoan, who is currently under police custody and seeking medical attention at a private hospital, in accordance with applicable legal procedures governing the service of warrants on persons under medical confinement.

The PNP emphasized that all actions undertaken were carried out in line with existing rules of procedure and with full respect for constitutional rights, ensuring that court directives were executed in a lawful, orderly, and professional manner.

Estrada was arrested on Monday and was currently detained at the New Quezon City Jail whereas Bonoan seeks hospital arrest due to his medical condition.
