You won’t be able to pay with your CIMB debit card for a few hours on 19, 22, and 23 September 2026. CIMB will be doing scheduled maintenance on its debit card system during the early morning on each of these days.
The break covers debit cards from both CIMB Bank and CIMB Islamic. CIMB shared the dates in a notice to cardholders on 9 September 2026.
CIMB Debit Card Maintenance Dates And Times
All three maintenance breaks start at midnight.
The first break starts when Friday night (18 September) turns into Saturday. The next two start straight after Monday night and Tuesday night.
The longest break is on Tuesday, 22 September, when your card won’t work until 7.30am. If you usually pay for breakfast or your morning commute with your debit card, you’ll need another way to pay that morning.
Card Payments That Won’t Go Through
During these hours, you can’t make any purchases with your CIMB debit card. This includes tapping or inserting your card at a payment terminal in a shop, and entering your card details to pay on a website or app. It applies whether your card uses MyDebit, Visa, or Mastercard.
So if you tap your card at a convenience store after midnight or pay for a late night food order with a saved card, the payment will fail. The card will work as usual again once each break ends.
FPX And DuitNow Payments Aren’t Part Of This Maintenance
Paying through FPX, where you log in to your online banking to pay a website, doesn’t use your debit card. Neither do DuitNow transfers or scanning a DuitNow QR code with your banking app.
CIMB’s notice only lists debit card purchases, so FPX and DuitNow payments aren’t included in this maintenance.
Plan Your Payments Before Midnight
If you need to buy something during these hours, pay for it earlier in the evening, or use FPX or DuitNow QR if the shop or website accepts them.
If you’re unsure whether a specific payment will be affected, you can check with CIMB directly before the maintenance dates.
