
Kota Kinabalu: A civil servant and four company owners claimed trial in the Sessions Court here to multiple counts of submitting and using documents containing false details regarding house repair works under the Hardcore Poor Housing Programme (PPRT).
Agriculture Department administrative assistant Aidah Mustapha, 54, faces 10 charges; Kenidi Musa, 41, and Mohd Nur Musa, 42, face five charges each, while Ashar Usman, 45, and Shariff Wahya, 55, each face one charge.
The accused allegedly submitted false invoices and purchase orders under different enterprise names, as well as forged project forms, to deceive the Giatmara Sabah Director over repairs in Tawau that failed to comply with prescribed work specifications between April and September 2021.
Charges under Section 18 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009, punishable under Section 24(1) of the same Act, carry a jail term of up to 20 years and a minimum fine of five times the gratification amount or RM10,000, whichever is higher, upon conviction.
