
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy visit from United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia Ajay Sharma at Menara Kinabalu on Wednesday.
The meeting served as Sharma’s official introductory visit to the Chief Minister since assuming his post.
Welcoming the envoy to the State, Hajiji expressed hope that ties between Sabah and the United Kingdom would continue to strengthen.
Sharma, who was appointed to his current role in April 2025, possesses more than three decades of British diplomatic experience, having previously served as Ambassador to Qatar and held senior positions at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Also present were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Lo Su Fui and Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun.
