TUARAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all four state assembly constituencies in Tuaran benefit from development on par with other areas in Sabah.
He said that as a Chief Minister hailing from the district, it was his responsibility to bring progress not only to his own constituency of Sulaman, but also to Pantai Dalit, Tamparuli and Kiulu.
Speaking at the presentation of appointment letters to 93 Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairpersons from Sulaman and Pantai Dalit for the 2026–2030 term at Dewan Seri Sulaman here on Tuesday, Hajiji expressed his gratitude for the continuous support of the local people throughout his 36 years representing the area.
At the same event, 200 petty traders and roadside hawkers from both constituencies received RM3,000 in cash assistance each under the 2026 Sentuhan Kasih Hajiji allocation, an initiative under the Sabah Maju Jaya development roadmap aimed at easing financial burdens and boosting local economic activities.
Reminding the newly appointed JKKK chairpersons to serve effectively as the eyes and ears of the government, Hajiji emphasised that their primary role extends beyond implementing projects to include fostering grassroots unity, building community ties, and organising communal gotong-royong activities.
