
KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor affirmed that the Sabah State Government remains steadfast on matters of faith, development, and the well-being of the ummah.
He highlighted ongoing support for Islamic education and teachings through agencies like JHEAINS, MUIS, USIA, and ABIM.
Under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya policy, scholarship opportunities have been provided for local students to pursue higher education, while mosque and surau infrastructure has been upgraded under the 12th Malaysia Plan.
The upcoming 13th Malaysia Plan will focus on digital dakwah, integrated rural preacher placements, and MADANI youth programmes.
Hajiji announced increased allowances for religious leaders, including RM1,000 for 33 District Imams, RM200 for KAFA teachers and Rawatib Imams, and one-off RM500 payments for 394 Takmir teachers, with nearly RM15 million allocated annually.
He pledged continued support as Sabah’s economy grows.
