CMAT addresses relentless body shaming after Radio 1 Big Weekend appearance

  • The artist took to Instagram to address the trolling she was subjected to following her appearance at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Sunderland on 24 May.
  • CMAT expressed her frustration at constantly having to address the treatment she endures due to her body.
  • She said that the abuse is “accelerating and worsening” as her fame grows, adding that her success is becoming “increasingly tarnished by the fact that I would be allowed to enjoy it so much more if I was thin.”
  • The 30-year-old singer highlighted her desire to stop discussing the issue, but noted she “cannot because it keeps happening”.
