Comedian to bring ‘wee taste’ of the Fringe to travellers at Glasgow station

An award-winning comedian is set to bring a “wee flavour” of the Fringe to a Glasgow railway station this weekend, at what has been billed Scotland’s smallest comedy club.

Glaswegian comic Rosco McClelland will deliver quick-fire comedy sets at a pop-up venue at Glasgow Queen Street station on Saturday afternoon.

The venue will host five-minute sets between 12.15pm and 2.30pm, with room for up to five people at a time on a first-come, first-served basis.

McClelland, who won the Billy Connolly Sprit of Glasgow award at last year’s Glasgow Comedy Festival, said he is looking forward to serving up impromptu shows to people on their way to the capital.

“It’s an honour to serve up some pre-Fringe comedy for fans heading to Edinburgh,” he said.

“The Fringe Festival is such a buzz and a great day out for everyone to enjoy, bringing a wee flavour of that to Glasgow is going to be great.”

The comedian has been a popular act on the Fringe after successful shows in 2024 and 2025, and is also a regular on satirical show Breaking The News.

This summer he also produced his own Scotland anthem ahead of the World Cup.

ScotRail said it is staging the event to shine a spotlight on its GroupSave ticket, which allows groups of between 3-5 people to save up to a third on their rail travel.

Claire Dickie, ScotRail commercial director, said: “The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of Scotland’s biggest cultural events, attracting thousands of people travelling to the capital each day.

“We wanted to celebrate that in a unique way for passengers while highlighting just how much they can save by travelling together by train.

“GroupSave gives groups of three to five people a third off anytime rail fares for some of our most popular routes, making it a great option whether you’re heading to see a Fringe show, meeting friends for a day out, travelling to a concert or supporting your team at a match.

“It’s available all-year round, giving customers even more opportunities to explore Scotland together for less.”
