- The Commonwealth Games 2026 will kick off with its opening ceremony at Glasgow's OVO Hydro on Thursday 23 July at 8pm.
- UK viewers can tune in live on TNT Sports 2, or watch free-to-air on Channel 5. Gaelic coverage will also be provided by BBC Alba from 8pm.
- Performers at the opening ceremony include KT Tunstall, Nathan Evans, Calum Beattie and Nina Nesbitt.
- TNT Sports holds the full live rights for the Games, but the opening ceremony and nightly highlights will be able to be viewed on Channel 5.
- Some 74 countries will take part in the Games, with about 3,000 athletes competing for 215 gold medals.
