Kota Kinabalu: Written concerns raised by communities in Api-Api and Likas will be referred to the relevant City Hall (DBKK) departments for follow-up.
Nominated Assemblywoman Grace Lee Li Mei said about 10 representatives submitted issues involving their communities, management companies, shoplots, condominiums and shopping centres.
She said the submissions covered dengue prevention, clogged drains and sewage backflow, rubbish management, streetlights, utility poles, parking, damaged infrastructure and public safety.
Lee said the engagement should continue with wider participation from government agencies and proposed the “Api-Api Clean-up” as a regular community-led initiative to complement DBKK’s cleanliness efforts.
DBKK Deputy Director-General Faradillah Abdul Rani said DBKK welcomed such programmes as they enabled the local authority to engage more closely with the public and identify areas for improvement.
