I am encouraged reading the feedback from AIM alumnus who's a marketing consultant with an international Advertising Agency, Dato' Bijayo Adi Satria Ahmad, on my story “Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman: The Top Performing, Most Trusted City Mayor in the Philippines from Media People's Choice” published by newswav.com dated Sunday, 18 October 2026. Let me quote “The critical factor in governing a City nation or for that matter a company and organization is clean and efficient GOVERNANCE! And religious commitment in practice ensure INTEGRITY and Free from abuse and corruption which has always been the challenge as power corrupts! I'm sure Mayor Sitti Djalia as a distinguished AIM Alumni is part of that positive development process as more Muslims & non Muslim enlightened political leaders begin to take charge! The future in Agro industry is very good for the Philippines, especially in coconuts which my organization is also preparing to engage in.”
I agree with Dato' Bijayo that the goal of good governance is the foundation of today's development has always been to demand the wellbeing of the public to be preserved continuously from one generation to the next. This means that the welfare and wellbeing of the community must be at the central focus of the government through effective governance. Although the local government strives to provide the best service to the community, there are challenges and obstacles that can inhibit the services. As such, it is spot on Mayor Sitti Djalia's initiatives in getting active community involvement with the planning and development process as one of the most important aspects of wellbeing society in improving service quality for the City Government of Isabela City de Basilan.
I found the residents in Isabela City have firsthand knowledge of local challenges, which leads to more practical and tailored public policies. Open consultations & transparent communication reduce corruption and increase confidence in public institutions. Thus, by involving diverse and underrepresented groups that city services & infrastructure reflect the needs of everyone in the community.
