PUTATAN: Tanjung Keramat Assemblyman Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya advised the public to take advantage of social media platforms, especially on the issue of garbage pile-ups in the district.

He said cooperation in the form of complaints or comments are welcome to ensure that immediate action can be taken.

Shahelmey, who is also State Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister, said as the ruling government, leaders or parties concerned should make no mistake.

“If there are negative comments regarding the current situation, leaders should be wise to take heed of the feedback.

“In this technology age, we as those in charge are not exempt from criticism, especially when it comes to basic hygiene.

“Individuals are urged to report their grievances directly to the relevant parties because almost all local authorities now have respective social media pages.

“Complaints and feedback from the public must be resolved and addressed,” he said after surveying the situation in Kampung Sri Pandan, here, Monday afternoon.

Shahelmey explained that garbage had been left piling up after it went uncollected by the Putatan District Council (MDPTN) for the past three days.

“The Council has been addressed and urged to take action. We are aware of the residents’ complaints and I have instructed relevant parties to take immediate action,” he said.
