Conor McGregor’s UFC return is finally on the calendar, and every new clip now carries extra scrutiny.
The Irishman is set to face Max Holloway on 11 July during International Fight Week, ending a five-year wait for his MMA comeback.
A new training video posted online has added to the debate, with fans split over how sharp McGregor looks before the rematch.
Fans split over Conor McGregor training footage before UFC return

The footage showed McGregor working through a specific striking sequence, but some fans were not convinced by what they saw.
“He looks slow and stiff. If he ends up getting into fight shape then things might change, but Max runs rings around this Conor,” one Reddit user wrote.
Another fan argued McGregor’s movement has never fully recovered since his boxing crossover against Floyd Mayweather.
“Conor’s fluidity has not been the same since the Mayweather fight. I think training for that fight being pure boxing has ruined it for him,” he said.

A third comment added: “Flat footed and heavy. I mean, Dustin even warned him before the trilogy that it wasn’t a good plan.”
Others pushed back, warning against reading too much into one short clip from a training session.
“Look, I think Max is likely to win, but it’s clear Conor is working on a particular shot here,” one fan said.
Another argued: “He’s much heavier now than before, that plus aging and style switching means we won’t see a light-footed, bouncing back and forth McGregor that fought Aldo. Holloway will be the faster fighter but Conor is probably the one hitting harder, still, a very interesting fight.”
