Fahmi Reza uploaded four caricatures of Tun M sporting a baseball cap with logos of UMNO, BERSATU and Pejuang. As for the latest that he joined after quitting Pejuang, party he is sporting a Malay headgear known as the tengkolok.
This is Tun Mahathir at his best. He is a consistently controversial character in Malaysian politics in a never ending struggle to champion the Malay cause now considered by many as unrealistic.
Some staunch supporters of Tun Mahathir say that the support for him never wavered. But his detractors might not think so. One in particular is Nazri, our current ambassador to the US who wanted Tun Mahathir charged for criticising and labelling PMX a dictator.
On the other hand, those who are with Tun Mahathir know for a fact that he is always out there fighting for Malay rights and privileges.
Someone dug up an old interview with late Tunku who berated Tun M for campaigning against the Father of Merdeka demanding that he resigned. (I am uploading the interview here just as an illustration)
That was in the 1970s. Now here we are with Tun Mahathir at 98 soldiering on doing what he believes to be a right course.
It matters not whatever names you call him, he does what he thinks is right. His most recent forum on "Proklamasi Melayu" or the Malay Proclamation with him as the Main Speaker was cancelled several times by the government of the day but he carries on changing venues and finally renaming it as Malays Celebrating Ramadan. But he is still the main speaker.
Carry on Tun Mahathir, hopefully you'll be able to fulfill your cherished goals. Whatever they may be or how unrealistic they appear to others.
Ignore your detractors. They too have their own agendas!
