Kota Kinabalu: A construction worker was sentenced to seven months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here after pleading guilty to voluntarily causing hurt to his Chinese national safety manager.
Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin handed down the sentence to Mohd Faizal Umar, who admitted to punching Lui Yuhang in the mouth until he lost consciousness.
The offence took place at 8.30pm on Oct 30 at the Bayu Condominium construction site along Jalan Damai, Lorong Kenawai 2 in Dah Yeh Villa.
The charge, framed under Section 323 of the Penal Code, carries an imprisonment term of up to one year, a fine, or both upon conviction.
Inspector Yusdi Basri prosecuted.
