
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor is confident Sabah will continue to enjoy peace, success and prosperity under the leadership of Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Musa bin Haji Aman, the 11th Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah.
“I invite all leaders and the people of this state to cooperate, work together and unite in driving the development of our beloved Sabah.
Advertisement“Indeed, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri is a symbol of sovereignty, dignity and a unifying force for the diverse community of Sabah, comprising people of different races, religions and cultures.
“Hence, this esteemed institution will always be upheld as the foundation of the people’s unity and a symbol of Sabah’s sovereignty,” he said, at the Oath of Office ceremony at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Wednesday.

“Through the SMJ development plan, the State Government has successfully increased investment values while creating job opportunities for local residents.

“We will maintain this momentum to achieve even greater success. These impressive accomplishments result from the hard work and high commitment of government leadership alongside civil servants as the driving force of the government machinery.

“This encouraging development aligns with the trajectory set nearly four years ago,” he said.
Hajiji emphasized that progress and the people’s well-being remain the government’s main agenda.
Therefore, various programmes, initiatives, and assistance are provided to targeted groups, particularly the poor and hardcore poor.
Moreover, he said, students and those aspiring to pursue higher education are not neglected, in which through human capital development programs, the government provides funding for eligible individuals to cover their education costs.
“The government will also continue to ensure the sustainability of natural resources, preserve cultural values and traditions of all ethnic groups and maintain the unity and harmony that have existed for generations.
“Public safety and order will remain a priority to ensure the wellbeing of the people,” he said.
Hajiji also pledged unwavering loyalty to Tun Musa.
“May Tuan Yang Terutama Tun, Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Faridah binti Haji Tusin, and their beloved family always be under the protection and blessings of Allah SWT, with continued health and wellbeing,” he said.
Musa, 73, accompanied by Toh Puan Faridah, arrived at the ceremonial hall at 10.11 am before taking the oath at 10.22 am.
Sabah State Mufti, Datuk Bungsu Jaafar, recited prayers for the state’s prosperity under Musa’s leadership. The Governor left the venue at 10.43 am.
Also present were Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam and Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, Sabah State Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M Yahya and State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong.
On Dec 17, Musa received his letter of appointment as Yang Dipertua Negeri from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur. His term begins on Jan 1, 2025 and will run until Dec 31, 2028.
Musa succeeds Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, who concluded his tenure on Dec 31 after serving four terms since Jan 1, 2011.
