PROSECUTORS on Wednesday presented SYMS Construction owner Sally Santos, a state witness, in the trial of the graft case filed against former senator Bong Revilla and other people in connection with the alleged ghost project in Pandi, Bulacan.
On cross-examination by the defense, however, Santos told the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division she did not deliver money to Revilla in connection with the project.
She also testified that she had no personal knowledge on whether he had conspired with anyone to create a ghost project.
Revilla’s lawyer Reody Anthony Balisi said they are hoping for the best, reiterating that there was no evidence linking Revilla to the scam.
In February 2026, the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division entered a not guilty plea for Revilla after he refused to enter a plea in the arraignment for the graft case. Arjay Domasig and Juanito Mendoza pleaded not guilty. On Jan. 28, Brice Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza and Christina Mae Pineda pleaded not guilty. Emelita Juat pleaded not guilty on Jan. 23.
The same accused are facing a malversation through falsification case in connection with the same alleged ghost project. This case is pending before the Sandiganbayan Third Division, which started the trial on Tuesday.
