Witness says P299M sent in grocery boxes

PROSECUTION witness Monica Louis Ocampo-Santos told the Sandiganbayan on Monday that P299 million was delivered to Brice Hernandez in connection with five projects — one of which included the subject of the case filed against former senator Bong Revilla Jr. and several others.

Santos, who had served as a liaison officer of SYMS Construction, testified at the resumption of the hearing on the bail petitions filed by Revilla and most of his co-accused in the malversation through falsification case in connection with an alleged ghost project in Pandi, Bulacan.

Answering questions from Associate Justice Karl Miranda, the chairman of the court’s Third Division, she told the court that P74 million was delivered in connection with the project to Hernandez, a former assistant district engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways’ Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office.

She said that the P299 million was placed in grocery boxes and delivered to Hernandez’ office in 2025.

Revilla’s camp has said that he had no hand in the project in Pandi, whether it was a ghost project or not.

The other accused were Hernandez, Juanito Mendoza, Arjay Domasig, Emelita Juat, Christina Mae Pineda, and Jaypee Mendoza. The accused, except Jaypee Mendoza, are seeking bail.

The case was filed by the Office of the Ombudsman in January 2026.

Revilla refused to enter a plea during his arraignment in February, but the court entered a “not guilty” plea for him.

Juanito Mendoza, Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza, Domasig, Juat, and Pineda pleaded not guilty to the charge.
