POLICE today brought the mother of murdered 6-year-old boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin back to her residence at Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai for a reenactment of the scene when the boy’s disappearance was first noticed in December last year.
The reenactment was carried out by police under very strict conditions, with the media not allowed anywhere near where the investigations were being carried out.
The investigative team that carried out the reenactment comprised the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Selangor contingent police headquarters and investigation officers from the Petaling Jaya police headquarters.
It was understood that an unmarked police van brought the victim’s mother to her residence at Block R at around 10.15am.
Police officers were also spotted bringing a child mannequin but its intended use was not known.
Last Friday, police extended the remand of Zayn’s parents by six days to facilitate further investigations.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the couple would be remanded until June 13.
The couple, both 28 years old, were remanded for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code after they were arrested at Puncak Alam on May 31.
On December 6 last year, Zayn was found dead in a stream near Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai.
The body was found by a group of residents about 200m from his residential block after he was reported missing. – June 10, 2024.
