SHAH ALAM – Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman expressed concern about the future government when Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was accused of setting a precedent when his deputy's corruption case was dropped in court.

Through a post on X on Tuesday, he said that the Attorney-General would be the main shield from now on when corruption cases were dropped one by one.

"A clear precedent. After this when corruption cases are dropped one by one, the Attorney-General appointed by PM will be the main shield.

"My concern is that the future government will use the precedent set by the government. If he (Anwar) can do it, the future PM can too. Time will tell," he said.

It was reported that Anwar insisted that he did not intervene in the case of the discharge not amounting to the acquittal (DNAA) decision of Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi from 47 charges of breach of trust, corruption and money laundering involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds.
