  • Japan Rail Pass prices are set to increase from 1 October, affecting tourists travelling by train.
  • An adult week pass for a standard train carriage will rise by £14 to £247, while premium Green Car week passes will increase by £19 to £345.
  • Three-week passes will also see price hikes, with standard adult tickets going up by £23 to £490 and premium seats by £33 to £685.
  • The JR Group said the price revision is due to previous ticket price adjustments made by some JR companies.
  • Separately, tourists are being urged to stop throwing coins into the crystal-clear ponds at Mount Fuji's Oshino Hakkai village due to concerns over water quality and the natural environment.
