
Kota Kinabalu: The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted cleft lip and palate surgery in Sabah where patients had to endure long delays to receive reconstructive surgery and treatment, said Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Vice Chancellor, Datuk Dr Taufiq Yap Yun Hin.
In Malaysia, 1.24 of every birth experienced cleft-related problem, while Sabah has the highest proportion of children with cleft lip and palate problems in the country.
