The Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) is teetering on the edge of collapse as police investigations lead to the seizure and freezing of multiple accounts linked to the organization. This crackdown has sent shockwaves through the network of businesses and charity homes associated with GISBH, many of which are now struggling to stay afloat.

Reports indicate that the GISBH headquarters in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, has turned into a “ghost town,” following a series of raids conducted as part of Op Global Phase Four on September 21. The operation has significantly impacted various GISBH enterprises, including restaurants and supermarkets, which have been forced to cease operations as their financial resources dwindle.

The turmoil escalated after numerous followers and employees of GISBH reportedly fled in a bid to evade arrest, following the detention of their leader during a nationwide sweep on September 18. The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) are conducting thorough investigations that encompass a range of serious allegations, including money laundering, child negligence, abuse, and sexual misconduct.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain emphasized that the investigations are ongoing and being executed meticulously, adhering to relevant laws, including the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012, commonly known as Sosma. "We are gathering all evidence pointing towards various offenses under the law," he stated, indicating the seriousness of the situation.

The latest phase of the operation uncovered troubling findings, with authorities seizing books, documents, and materials linked to Al-Arqam teachings associated with GISBH. Reports indicate that 221 GISBH premises were found abandoned, with members of the organization having seemingly vanished to avoid law enforcement scrutiny.

Financial repercussions have been severe, as the police have frozen a total of 153 bank accounts—138 of which hold a combined sum of RM882,795—while an additional 15 accounts have been permanently closed. This financial strain adds to the instability faced by businesses and charity homes under the GISBH umbrella.

In a broader context of the ongoing investigations, over 572 children and teenagers believed to have been abused and exploited by GISBH have been rescued since the initiation of Op Global on September 11. The operation has also resulted in the arrest of more than 300 individuals, including key figures within GISBH.

The situation surrounding GISBH highlights the pressing need for regulatory oversight and the protection of vulnerable populations, especially in environments where unchecked organizations can exploit individuals for various purposes. The authorities are committed to addressing these issues comprehensively, ensuring that justice is served.
