Cristiano Ronaldo has broken another record during the 2026 World Cup during Portugal’s round of 32 clash against Croatia.
Ronaldo has already put himself into the record books by scoring at six consecutive tournaments, as well as appearing at six World Cups but is hoping to end what is likely to be his last one on a high.
The 41-year-old has played in every game, even though manager Roberto Martinez has faced calls to do so, and by doing so against Croatia, has broken another record.

Cristiano Ronaldo breaks new age record in the World Cup
By starting against Croatia, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has become the oldest outfield player to feature in a World Cup knockout game at the age of 41 years and 147 days old.
Roger Milla of Cameroon remains the oldest player in World Cup history but the Al Nassr forward can celebrate another personal accolade.
His new feat comes hours after Ronaldo’s sister hinted that retirement may be around the corner as Katia Avero told people to “enjoy it while it lasts”.
There have been no public admissions about his future yet, however, many believe this will be Ronaldo’s final World Cup as a player.
His contract at Al Nassr expires in 2027, by which time he will be closing in on his 43rd birthday.
