Cristiano Ronaldo nets his 17th league goal this season, helping Al Nassr to a 3-0 victory over Al Kholood and moving his side up to second place.

LONDON: Cristiano Ronaldo was on target as Al Nassr secured a comfortable 3-0 away win against Al Kholood in the Saudi Pro League.

The Portuguese star opened the scoring in the 47th minute, tapping in a low cross from compatriot Joao Felix for his 17th goal in 18 league games this season.

French defender Mohamed Simakan doubled the lead six minutes later, heading home a Felix corner.

Kingsley Coman added a late third goal to seal the victory for the title-chasing side.

Al Kholood played the final 18 minutes with 10 men after captain Hattan Bahebri was sent off for catching Simakan with an elbow.

The win lifted Al Nassr to second place, above Al Ahli on goal difference and three points below leaders Al Hilal.

Ronaldo, substituted with 11 minutes remaining, moved on to 961 professional career goals with his simple finish.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star said last month he would not retire before reaching the milestone of 1,000 goals.
