- Season three of Jimmy McGovern’s Time, starring David Tennant, has been met with positive reviews from critics after its premiere.
- While the BBC show has previously followed life in high security men’s and women’s prisons, its third season spotlights a young offender institution, with Tennant playing Bobby Bailey – a guard struggling with his personal life alongside new challenges within the prison.
- Writing for The Independent, Nick Hilton awarded the series three stars, adding: “At its most angry, Time is scintillating, urgent television, which acts as a desperate coda to Adolescence.”
- The Guardian gave the show’s latest instalment five stars, with Lucy Mangan writing: “This portrait of masculinity and the misery it brings probably won’t garner the attention and momentum that Jack Thorne’s Adolescence did. But it should. Our boys need it.”
- Meanwhile, Anita Singh of The Telegraph also awarded the show five stars, saying that Tennant's acting was "Bafta-worthy".
